演出の中屋敷氏は役者の身体と動きを非常に上手く使う。「歩いていたらいつの間にか登っていた」ような空間を考えた。日本家屋の「縁側」を長く引き伸ばして折り曲げでみた。床板が剥がれているようなイメージで突起を作り演者が立ったり登ったりするための手がかりにした。
The director, Norihito Nakayashiki brilliantly uses the body and it’s movements. The character is walking and suddenly is climbing. The setting is the “engawa”(outside walkway of a traditional Japanese house). It is long and the floor is curved up with protruding objects that seem to be part of a peeling floor. The protrusions are used for the actors to step up or down.
